I'm in love with a new location.

Haha! Seriously, though...I've been eyeing this bluebonnet field for a few weeks now. It's just GORGEOUS! So, today, we decided to head out there & get a few pictures. It was probably about 4pm, so the sun was pretty bright, but we kinda made it work. :-)

I actually got my whole family dressed in coordinating outfits (okay, they were pretty matchy-match) to try to get a family picture. We haven't had one in ages, I don't think. And, the last one we tried to do in the bluebonnets was before I got into photography, so, yeah...it STUNK! Ha! Here we are:
Yes...we all have some article of grass green clothing on. We're dorks. I know.

Anyway, here are a few more from the field:

Grandma & the girls:
And, then we went on and met Heather's family for dinner. I convinced everyone to meet at a little historical park so that we could take a few picture of mom with all her grandkids. Amazingly, they were pretty cooperative.
There were TONS more good ones, too, but I'm feeling a little sleepy. I've got to get to bed soon.

That's an amazing field, and the picture of your mom with her grandkids is so perfect. Your colour is amazing and your composition is always great. Thank you for sharing, these are so inspirational!

WOW you are awesome! These are absolutely gorgeous. I love them all but I think #2 is my favorite, the angle, DOF, etc. Oh and I just bought that same dress for my DD that your older DD is wearing - we got the same taste LOL!

Aw, I've had my morning coffey now I can go on with my day...
Love these. That second picture of your daughter in teh flowers with teh amazing bokeh -- that is one of my favorite pictures ever. Your family pictures are great. I've had my own family pictures in mind for a while now - I need to get out and do the same thing. I'm wondering if I can tell my dad how to take the picture I have in my head if I do all the settings...
Anyway, TFS and I love your pictures - seriously -

Amy,
I love all your pictures! You're really good at this! I have a question for you. I created some 10x20 collages that I want to print. Do you know where I can get this size printed for a good price? Email me - alishaeades@yahoo.com.
thanks!!

Wow, I'm impressed. You nailed these without blowing out your background, and yet all your subjects are exposed so well too. Man.
I love the barn shot too. I had fun picturing the same shot, but shot lower so you had all the shadows, instead of the sky... how great to have a "grandma" picture with all her grandkids. That's a treasure!

I LOVE the Grandma pics- I have no trouble getting the kids in the picture but my mom is a different story. Did you meter for these? In camera? If so, did you meter off of the sky, grass, or people- how did you get sky so perfect? I'm in awe as usual!

Oh and Amy - you asked about my 35mm. I LOVE it! It's fast enough for most occasions and it's incredibly sharp with great contrast & bokeh. Be warned; when it first arrived I was a bit shocked. It looks very outmoded and the focus is loud but you get used to it pretty soon. But its good make up for its bad!

Why do you want to sell your 30?
