A couple more from a couple days ago...
These two pictures are from when I was testing the Tamron. I hate to admit it, but I think Curt made the right choice with this lens! This wasn't tops on my list, but he wanted the range, so he won. Really, (but don't tell him) I think we both won! :-)
Please, please, PLEASE weigh in on whether you prefer the picture of Maya in color or black & white. I've been LOVING these moody black & whites lately, but I feel like the pink hat really compliments Maya's big blue eyes. What do you think? I'd also like to go ahead and thank skeefe for her AWESOME B&W conversion that I've been using NON STOP lately! Thanks so much!
Also, on the picture of Emma, I'd love to see more room below her chin, too, but it was an in camera crop. :-(

Love both shots of the color and b&w but like the color better. I think it has a softness that is really sweet!
*BTW, sorry for the tempation on my blog:0
I'm trying to cut down on my caffeine too!* :):)
As much as I LOVE B&W's, and yours totally rock (could you please share the conversion you referenced?), the color is perfect and does show off Maya's eyes beautifully!
Amy - Your work is beautiful! I actually like the color one a bit more... her eyes.... beautiful. It's a little softer with the color too.
these are all gorgeous but i, also, prefer teh color. it's just too sweet! btw, all your photos are fantastic! haven't been here in a few days and wow! missed some nice shots!
Gorgeous portrait. ANd I prefer the color. How could you lose those blue eyes??
LOVE the color! Her eyes are gorgeous and the pink is perfect.
Amy, these are stunning. Beautiful job. I agree that I love the color version better.
Beautiful shots. I like the color one, I think. The b&w is great, but the color speaks to me... Awesome job!
Love the color shot! She's beautiful! I was debabting on that Tamron lens. I may have to check it out! I love that it's 2.8!
On this one, definitley the color. That pink softness sreams feminity to me.
Love your shots. I love your b/w conversions but I really love the picture in pink. Her beautiful eyes really pop out. TFS
OMG - those are both awesome! I love you b/w conversions... Please please please share!
The top pic isn't coming up for me, but I just have to say that the photos and conversions rock!
okay - the color one is up now. I really, really like it. But I didn't notice the dof affecting her face until I saw it in color so I'm gonna have to go with black and white still. Very beautiful!
...just one more comment, I swear! I just read everyone elses responses(which I never do) and noticed that i'm totally the rebel here. Sorry, I'm sticking to it though! Heehee.........:)
These are beautifully done - and I agree, the color really does something in that first one. Her skin tone is so creamy and her eyes really pop!
Amy, I love the pictures - the one of Emma is really nice. I love the one of Maya too! I prefer the color one in this case - there seems to be an added depth of character. DS
I like the black and white a little more. Maya just looks so grown up in these.
I stumbled across your blog somehow... don't remember the links I clicked on that got me here, but I LOVE it! You do such a beautiful job with color and lighting! I am so impressed with the vibrancy in all your photos!
